EXPORT DIVERSIFICATION AND REGIONAL ECONOMIC GROWTH IN UZBEKISTAN
Keywords:
export diversification; regional economic growth; international trade; structural transformation; Uzbekistan; regional developmentAbstract
This study examines export diversification and regional economic growth in Uzbekistan through a synthesis of published research and a descriptive comparison of official statistics for 2010–2025. Regional export trends vary substantially, but changes in export value do not measure diversification or establish its causal effect on growth. The findings highlight productive learning, domestic supplier linkages and reduced exposure to product-specific shocks as potential mechanisms, emphasizing the need to distinguish export scale, composition and domestic value creation.
